In Bangem, Visionary Care Foundation (VCF) Cameroon, in partnership with the Subdivisional Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, supported vulnerable children and young single mothers with essential hygiene materials as part of a child protection and GBV prevention strategy. The initiative highlighted how meeting basic needs can reduce vulnerability to neglect, exploitation, and abuse while restoring dignity and hope to families in need.

“Enough Is Enough”: VCF Cameroon Joins Advocacy Walk Against GBV and Feminicide in Buea.

On April 28, Visionary Care Foundation (VCF) Cameroon joined other Civil Society Organizations and the Regional Delegation of Women’s Empowerment and the Family in an advocacy walk through the streets of Buea to raise awareness against gender-based violence, rape, child abuse, and feminicide. Carrying messages of justice, protection, and solidarity, participants called for an end to the silence, stigma, and impunity surrounding violence against women and children. The walk emphasized that survivors are not alone and highlighted the urgent need for safer communities, stronger accountability, and collective action. For VCF Cameroon, the activity reflects its continued commitment to protecting vulnerable women and children through advocacy, prevention, youth empowerment, and community-led action against GBV.

“VCF Cameroon Participates in the Closing Ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in Buea”

VCF Cameroon participated in the closing ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence at the Women and Family Empowerment Centre in Buea. The event featured experience sharing, CSO activity reports, a panel discussion on this year’s theme, and key recommendations for strengthening prevention and survivor support. VCF Cameroon reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality and ending all forms of violence against women and girls.

“When the “Protector” Becomes the Predator”

VCF Cameroon conducted a child-protection session in Bangem, teaching primary school pupils how to identify and respond to sexual abuse. The session revealed that most abusers are trusted adults, not strangers. Children learned warning signs to watch for and were equipped with knowledge on who to report to and how to seek help. VCF remains committed to early prevention, empowering children to protect themselves and ensuring every child is safe, believed, and protected during the 16 Days of Activism and beyond.
