“Protecting Young Voices, Strengthening Young Leaders”

VCF Cameroon conducted an engaging GBV awareness session with students in a Bangem technical school. The discussion was interactive, with learners expressing strong interest, sharing views, and pledging to combat GBV and spread awareness. The initiative reinforced the importance of early education, empowerment, and student involvement in prevention efforts during the #16DaysofActivism.

“Protecting Little Bodies”

In Bangem, young pupils were introduced to the basics of GBV prevention through child-friendly activities like songs and games. They learned to identify private body parts, understand boundaries, and know who to tell if someone touches them inappropriately. This initiative, carried out during the 16 Days of Activism, reinforces early prevention and empowers children to stay safe, because every child deserves protection and every voice matters.

“Investing in Girls’ Rights: Hope and Empowerment in Bangem”.

After weeks of uncertainty caused by political instability, some young people of Bangem came together on October 30, 2025, to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child under the theme “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being.” Organized by Visionary Care Foundation (VCF Cameroon), the event brought together 40 young participants — 25 girls and 15 boys — for a day of learning, reflection, and empowerment. Through interactive discussions on leadership, menstrual hygiene, and gender equality, participants explored what it truly means to build inclusive and respectful communities. Girls left the event inspired to lead and learn, boys pledged to become allies for equality, and community leaders reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the rights of every child. With the distribution of educational kits and renewed partnerships, the celebration became a powerful reminder that investing in girls means investing in the future of our communities.

“Building a Stronger Response to Gender-Based Violence”

At Visionary Care Foundation, we believe that effective action begins with strong, well-equipped teams. From October 13–18, 2025, our staff paused field activities for a week of intensive capacity building in Gender-Based Violence (GBV) case management and humanitarian principles. Supported by REJEFEMAC and the French Embassy in Yaoundé, the training provided space for reflection, learning, and team growth. More than 70% of participants demonstrated significant improvement in knowledge and confidence — proof that investing in people creates lasting impact. This pause was not a break in our work, but a powerful step forward toward a more accountable, survivor-centered GBV response system in Cameroon.
