“When the “Protector” Becomes the Predator”

VCF Cameroon conducted a child-protection session in Bangem, teaching primary school pupils how to identify and respond to sexual abuse. The session revealed that most abusers are trusted adults, not strangers. Children learned warning signs to watch for and were equipped with knowledge on who to report to and how to seek help. VCF remains committed to early prevention, empowering children to protect themselves and ensuring every child is safe, believed, and protected during the 16 Days of Activism and beyond.

“Redefining Strength: Boys Exploring Positive Masculinity Through Sports and Art”

On September 8th, 2025, VCF Cameroon’s “Catch Them Young” program in Bangem engaged boys to redefine masculinity. Through sports and arts, they challenged societal “masks” like dominance and emotional suppression, instead drawing men who are respectful, caring, and supportive. This session showed boys eagerly choosing empathy and equality, proving that with guidance, they become champions for positive change.

“Protecting Young Voices, Strengthening Young Leaders”

VCF Cameroon conducted an engaging GBV awareness session with students in a Bangem technical school. The discussion was interactive, with learners expressing strong interest, sharing views, and pledging to combat GBV and spread awareness. The initiative reinforced the importance of early education, empowerment, and student involvement in prevention efforts during the #16DaysofActivism.

“Protecting Little Bodies”

In Bangem, young pupils were introduced to the basics of GBV prevention through child-friendly activities like songs and games. They learned to identify private body parts, understand boundaries, and know who to tell if someone touches them inappropriately. This initiative, carried out during the 16 Days of Activism, reinforces early prevention and empowers children to stay safe, because every child deserves protection and every voice matters.
