Visionary Care Foundation (VCF) Cameroon joined civil society organizations, community actors, and local authorities at the Women and Family Empowerment Centre, Buea, for the official closing ceremony of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

The event provided an important platform for reflection, learning, and collective action. Participants shared experiences from the field, highlighting both progress made and persistent challenges in the fight against GBV. Civil society organizations presented detailed reports of their activities carried out during the 16 Days campaign, demonstrating the depth of community engagement and the impact of ongoing advocacy efforts.

A dynamic panel discussion explored this year’s theme, focusing on the need to strengthen prevention initiatives, improve survivor-centered services, and reinforce accountability at all levels. Stakeholders also outlined key recommendations for sustaining momentum beyond the campaign – including stronger coordination, more community-led awareness activities, and continued capacity building.

VCF Cameroon reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality, supporting survivors, and building safer communities through ongoing prevention, protection, and empowerment programs.

Although the 16 Days campaign has come to an end, our resolve to end gender-based violence continues. We stand united with partners, communities, and survivors as we work toward a future where every woman and girl lives free from violence.
