In our recent Positive Parenting session with Muslim women in Buea, parents were invited to pause and reflect on their own childhood experiences. The goal was simple yet powerful: to connect the love they once received with the kind of parents they aspire to be today.

Through this self-reflection, participants recalled cherished memories of love, affection, attention, and care, alongside values like discipline, guidance, and skills-building that shaped who they are.

Then we asked: “How do you want your children to remember you?”

The answers were heartfelt: as loving, caring, supportive, and guiding figures in their children’s lives.

This exercise highlighted that positive parenting is about legacy. The choices we make in raising our children today shape the memories, lessons, and values they carry into adulthood. By embracing love, patience, and understanding, we influence not only our children’s futures but also the strength of our communities.

At Visionary Care Foundation, we believe every parent has the potential to raise children who feel valued, respected, and empowered.
